What Is an AI Voice Changer?
An AI voice changer processes an existing speech recording and converts the speaker's voice into a selected target voice. The source audio provides the spoken content and performance, while the target voice influences the vocal characteristics of the generated result. Echora uses an audio-to-audio, voice-to-voice conversion workflow rather than simply shifting pitch or adding an audio effect.
- Upload an existing speech recording instead of retyping text
- Choose a built-in voice or upload an authorized reference recording
- Aim to retain the original words, timing, and delivery
- Explore male, female, and custom target-voice directions
- Generate, preview, and download new audio in the browser
- Process only recordings and voices you own or are authorized to use
Voice Changer vs. Voice Clone vs. Text to Speech
These tools all create speech, but they use different inputs and solve different tasks. Choose the workflow that fits the material you already have.
AI Voice Changer
Upload an existing spoken recording, then choose a target voice. The tool uses the words and performance in the source audio to generate a version with a different voice.
Voice Clone
Upload an authorized reference recording and enter new text. The AI attempts to speak that new text with vocal characteristics drawn from the reference audio.
Text to Speech
Enter text and choose a voice supplied by the platform. No source recording or personal reference recording is required.
Real-Time Voice Changer
Changes a microphone signal during a call, game, stream, or live recording. Echora does not currently provide real-time processing; it creates a new audio file from an uploaded recording.
Why Use the Echora AI Voice Changer?
You do not need to retype or transcribe the words in your recording. Upload the speech, and Echora uses its spoken content and performance as the basis for conversion before generating the result with the selected target voice.
Choose from voices currently available in the editor, or upload an authorized reference recording for more custom voice conversion. This can support male voice, female voice, male-to-female, and female-to-male voice-change directions, although the result is not guaranteed to be an exact reproduction of a reference voice.
Source audio supports MP3, OGG, WAV, M4A, and AAC files up to 50MB and 10 minutes long. Reference audio supports the same formats and can be up to 10MB and 60 seconds long. Current upload limits are also shown in the editor.
There is no software to download or install. Upload your audio, choose a voice, and submit the conversion from your browser. When the result is ready, you can preview and download it online. Eligible new users can receive complimentary credits to try the service, and estimated credit usage is based on source-audio duration.
How to Change a Voice in Recorded Audio
Upload Clear Source Audio
Upload the recording whose voice you want to change. For more consistent results, use audio with clear speech, one main speaker, and reasonably stable volume.
- •Upload an MP3, OGG, WAV, M4A, or AAC file
- •Use a file no larger than 50MB
- •Use a recording no longer than 10 minutes
- •Minimize background music, environmental noise, and echo
- •Avoid overlapping speakers and frequent interruptions
- •Remove long sections of silence that are unrelated to the speech
Choose the Target Voice
Select either Built-In Voice or Reference Audio mode. Built-In Voice lets you compare the male and female voices currently available in the editor. Reference Audio lets you upload a short recording of the target voice for custom conversion. The reference should contain one main speaker and must be no larger than 10MB or longer than 60 seconds. Only upload your own voice or a voice you have explicit permission to use.
Generate, Preview, and Download
Review the source audio and target voice, then start the conversion. When processing is complete, preview the result in your browser and download the generated audio. If the first result does not meet your expectations, try a clearer source recording, choose another built-in voice, or provide a cleaner and more natural reference sample. Voice conversion results can vary, and an exact match to the target voice is not guaranteed.
How to Get Better AI Voice-Changer Results
Voice conversion quality depends on the source recording and the target-voice choice. These practical steps can help make results more consistent, although no exact match can be guaranteed.
Start with a Clear Single-Speaker Recording
Prioritize one main speaker, stable volume, and a clean background so the model can better identify the speech and performance.
Match the Target Voice to the Content
Try a target voice reasonably close to the source language, speaking speed, and delivery style. Bigger differences can be useful for creative experiments, but may be less consistent.
Keep Reference Audio Natural and Clean
For Reference Audio mode, use a short recording with one speaker, little music, limited echo, and no heavy compression. Natural, continuous speech is generally more useful than fragmented clips.
Preview the Entire Result Before Using It
Listen to the complete generated audio before publishing, delivering it to a client, or adding it to a video. Check proper names, fast speech, long sentences, and noisier source sections.
Voice Conversion for Existing Recordings
Creators, educators, and teams can change the voice in recorded speech without rewriting the script or recording the full performance again.
Video Voiceovers and Social Content
Convert an existing voiceover into a different voice for video drafts, short-form content, product demonstrations, and social media. The current page accepts audio files rather than video uploads, so process the voiceover track before returning it to your video editing project.
Podcasts and Spoken Content
Try different voices for podcast segments, spoken articles, show introductions, and stories. Record the original performance once, then compare how it sounds with different target voices.
Training and Product Explanations
Create alternative audio versions for training materials, product demonstrations, and internal instructions using your own voice or an authorized instructor, employee, or brand voice.
Characters and Creative Prototypes
Prototype character voices for stories, games, animation, and other creative projects. Test different directions with built-in voices or reference recordings that you have permission to use before arranging a final performance.
